Things To Do While Traveling About

posted by Teresa Johnson, BBB Club MemberSaturday, November 28th 2009 @ 7:20 PM (1 ratings)    post viewed 536 times

If you are planning to travel and want to do specific activities on your trip, plan ahead of time. Also, have a discussion with your travel party on things they would like to do as well. Once you know the activities you want to do, call ahead of time to get the details. Planning ahead will make your trip that much more enjoyable.

The activities that you plan, do not have to be complex. It could be as simple as going on a bike ride in the park or taking a hike. Whatever activities you do plan, ensure that the entire travel party has some interest. Even though your travel party may not have interest in all the activities, it is ideal that they provide input on what they may like. It is a win/win for all.

If you require special accommodations for specific activities, ensure that you call ahead of time. This will ensure that everything is setup before you arrive.

Some activities to consider during your trip include the following;

Outdoor Activities
There are numerous outdoor activities that one can do when traveling. The one I enjoy and recommend to others the most is walking/hiking. This activity gives you the opportunity to enjoy the sights and spend quality time with your travel party. Parks are always a great choice.

Golfing
This activity is available for kids and adults. If you are new to golfing, sign up for lessons as one of your activities. You can learn things such as basic rules of golf, type of golf clubs to use, golfing techniques and much more.

Did you know that wearing certain types of gloves can improve your golf game? These gloves have features proven to improve your ability to grip your clubs firmly in any kind of weather, wet or dry.

To cut down on the weight that you carry on the course, you may want to consider the size of your golf bag. You will still need to carry it to your car, unload it at the club and lift it onto the golf car. Some of the newer golf bags weigh as little as three-and-a-half pounds.

One last bit of advice when it comes to golfing. Never take it too seriously. Try to relax, have fun and build relationships. The memories are really what is key. So enjoy!

Spas
Spa visits can be fun, relaxing and pleasurable. These days, there are many types of spa outings to choose from. Such as destination spas, health spas, hotel spa and resort spa.

Destination Spas - Are very specific in the treatments they offer. For example, some offer treatment to assist in relieving the pain of arthritis. Most who visit destination spas, may do so offer a week or two at a time to receive the full benefits of treatment.

Health Spa - Focuses on weight loss, fitness, nutrition and other health related items. Some of the activities include eco-adventure, walking, yoga programs and much more. Some spas provide healthy recipes and cookbooks.

Hotel Spas - Some common treatments that you can find in hotel spas include: facials, hair removal, manicure, and pedicure, as well as a variety of body massages. Hotel spas are extremely beneficial for your appearance and relaxation of the mind, body, spirit and soul.

Spa Resorts - Are facilities where you can spend several days in order to rejuvenate and relax instead of a few hours, as you would in a day spa. Spa resorts will usually suggest therapies and even dietary plans that are planned over the entire stay, so you can get the most benefit from the spa resort and its facilities.

Even easier: Carry on everything you need. If you're in business and going away for the holidays, you probably won't be gone for long GIVEN your business. All your toiletries, Sunday church clothes, one pair of jeans (because you know you only need one), a few shirts, pajamas, and underwear can fit into one carry-on bag.

You're not going to Bermuda or the President's exotic week-long getaway. You're just going to spend time with your family and/or friends, and you really don't need the extras.

Your Christmas presents can go into a leftover Nordstroms bag to take on the plane, and your laptop bag already has your laptop in it.

Or just fly Southwest.
